The Deseret News reports the Church is testing a new family history records digitization project called FamilySearch Indexing www.familysearchindexing.org. Volunteers download scanned images of records and type up the information using special software. While it's not open to the public yet, you can register at the website.

Our stake is a pilot stake in this program, and I've been indexing for 1.5 months now. It's SO easy and quite addicting! I've actually been indexing right now while I watch conference.. two birds with one stone. :)

I registered on the FamilySearch Indexing website. For a long time I've struggled not knowing how I can contribute to family history work. So much of my family's work was done years ago. Finally, I think I may have found a way that I can help participate in the great family history work.
