First non-US stake was created around 1930 or so? I had no idea. Looks like it was in Tonga, is that right? Even more surprising to me was that extra-US stakes didn't really pick up until after 1960. I had always assumed it was much earlier.

That video has some inconsistencies. for example, it shows the Saskatoon and Regina stakes starting at the same time (1979), but the Regina stake was created only a few years ago.
