It's our belief that God created worlds without number and that He has children on those worlds as well.

We also have scriptures that teach this as well.

It’s always seemed a little improbable to me (JM from ourthoughts.ca) that this would be the only planet in the universe with life. I’m glad science is catching up with me!

Last Sunday one of the songs we sang was Hymn 284. It is a beautiful song. I wish we sang it every Sunday.

It is a beautiful song. However, in days of yore when I was responsible for helping select music in my ward, anytime I suggested this I was vetoed. I have never once heard this song sung in any ward I have belonged to. We seem to cycle through the same 15 hymns in my ward.

Were you given any reason as to why it was vetoed?

One bishop said it was too unfamiliar to ward members and that we should stick with the hymns everyone knows. Another time the pianist said she wasn't familiar with it. So I guess the question is, why aren't we familiar with it? It is one of the "deeper" hymns, to be sure. I think the music is beautiful and the lyrics are inspirational, but yes, they do provoke thought.

I've been ward chorister on a number of occasions, and I've enjoyed choosing this song to sing — although the "no end to race" line is a little awkward.
