World's Best Father

It all started when Dick Hoyt pushed his disabled son, Rick in a charity run. Rick said that when they were running he felt like he wasn't even handicapped. From there, they began participating in marathons and triathlons. "How’s a guy who never learned to swim and hadn’t ridden a bike since he was six going to haul his 110-pound kid through a triathlon? Still, Dick tried. Now they’ve done 212 triathlons, including four grueling 15-hour Ironmans in Hawaii . It must be a buzzkill to be a 25-year-old stud getting passed by an old guy towing a grown man in a dinghy, don’t you think?" Don't view the video at the end unless your mascara is waterproof.

Gosh, I feel so curmudgeonly for not sustaining this, but it's not LDS oriented at all is it?

And, I think, when this started, it was decided that it was ok to sustain something you submitted, as long as it's not your own blog. So clbruno, you can sustain.

I gave in, after all. I think that we ought to have some loose categories to organize the stories as more are sustained, so maybe there could be a category for non-LDS stories that tug at your heart strings.

If we're going to have non-LDS stories, might as well rename ourselves "Digg".

I think of it not as "LDS stories" but "stories LDS people would probably be interested in." Family-oriented, faith-promoting, inspiring stuff whether explicitly LDS or not is what I hope to get from hanging out here.
