I've got something that's been on my mind a lot lately. It's this: "What is going to happen when polygamy becomes legal in the U.S."?

comments
Those who ask this question forget, or simply don't know, that there are still countries and cultures in which the church operates throughout the world where polygamy is legal and practiced.
To discern what the church's policy will be if polygamy were legalized in the U.S., one only has to look at established church policy for missionaries serving in locations where polygamy is legal or tolerated now.
On page 77 of the Church's official missionary guide, "Preach My Gospel," under the topic "Live the Law of Chastity," in a box with a red header entitled "Couples Living Together" the official policy is stated:
"Men and women who are living together but are not married may not be baptized without first getting married or separated. *Those who are married to more than one person at a time may not be baptized*." (emphasis added)
This policy is not new, though it has not been previously as visible. There is no reason to suspect that the policy will change just because the U.S. changes its laws regarding the practice.
Perhaps we simply need to spend more time reading the materials the church provides.
Hhhhh's proposed question is definitely more interesting.
