This is a strange story about a BYU couple planning to get married in the temple. Her parents kidnapped her just days before the sealing. Her fiancee called authorities when she didn't show up for a pre-wedding dinner with his parents. Read on....

Who would name a son Lemuel?

Lemuel's actually an older American name, more common in the south. So perhaps the dad here is a convert. I've known several Lemuels who were not LDS. It is hard to figure out why an LDS family would name a kid Lemuel.

That is good to know. The last name Redd kind of swayed me to believe the dad was already a member (or a descendant of one). Maybe he is named after this Lemuel Redd: http://www.signaturebookslibrary.org/saints/lemuelredd.htm#redd
