I hope that this link will keep working-- and that access to the article stays free, but not sure either will happen. The article discusses the old LDS prophecy that the Constitution will one day hang by a thread and that the LDS church will somehow save it. The article discusses the history of the "prophecy" and references several LDS politicians.

Can anybody point to more info on this prophecy? The link requires a WSJ subscription... which I don't have & don't want.

Hmm, I was afraid of that. It was free when I linked to it, but I wasn't sure how long that would last. I do still have the entire text, but it's probably not ok to post the whole thing here. I did find this later, since I was curious about it:
