There are some interesting parallels with Pearson's story and that of Vincenzo Di Francesca (see http://www.bellasion.org/PDF/LetterDiFrancesca.pdf) dramatized in the church movie "How Rare a Possession." Pearson began teaching that there is no hell because he could not imagine people being condemned there for not accepting Christ during their time on Earth. I wonder if he has ever encountered our beliefs about the millenium and the chance for everyone to receive the gospel?

I should clarify that he did not find the Book of Mormon like Di Francesca, but rather had a similar epiphanal experience that came to change his beliefs, ultimately resulting in being rejected by his leaders. The thing that intrigued me is that LDS doctrine has an answer to Pearson's complaints.

Well ... except that apparently he thinks that once you've dispensed with Hell you've dispensed with the Savior as well.
