Now Confederate. I'm all for the ideals represented by the Deceleration of Independence and the Constitution. But the application of such things is far different in reality than in the ideal.
The day that the right proves that they actually believe in the words "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." I might respect them a little bit. Until then, your just as hypocritical, and just as capable of doing good despite that as the men who wrote those words and signed their names on the bottom.
Any specific issues you would like to bring up, or this is a hit-and-run attack?
I doubt you'll bring up new insights on how-the-right-stole-freedom, it's likely it's going to be gay rights issues and such, just the typical ones. And probably I will bring up abortion issues and explain how the left is guilty of violating unalienable rights as well.
The point I'm trying to get is, no matter which side, we'll always think we're the champions of justice, freedom and equality and the other side is the Grinch. The hypocrit accusations can go on one direction just as they can go the on other one.

I agree with you on that one. I would hardly consider that a "right-wing" issue, considering that many right-leaning people also share your concern about privacy.

Yes, I read the story, and it's a sad thing I wish it hadn't happened. I have to say, that's more of an issue with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, USCIS and Syria, not with the 'right'. You may argue that the right pushes for border security, and that is ethical and reasonable. The right or right-wing ideas do not account for problems such as Arar's, who happened to have documented links to people on a watchlist.
I know that you're so against the Declaration of Independence, and this guy is right. You left-leaner's are too scared. You complain about it, but won't sustain or oppose it because you are frightened of showing who you really are.
