Um... the status on this is "published" but it's only had 8 (now 9) sustaingings... has the bar been lowered from 12 for this one post — or for all posts?

I think it's been lower for several months now. I haven't noticed a blog entry on that policy change.

Yeah I lowered the threshold a month or two ago so that more stuff could make the front page. I think it's at eight if I recall correctly.

Wow. Ken Jennings' blog is usually pretty subdued. Can't say that I blame him for getting worked up about thing, however. Lazy journalism and cheap shots get me pretty annoyed too.
